OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
OUR RESPONSE TO COVID-19
March 22, 2020
Dear Celtic Arts Center Members & Community,
The Celtic Arts Center deeply values your health, safety, and well-being.
On March 19th, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti issued a "Safer at Home" emergency order, calling on all city residents to stay in their homes and limit all activities outside their residences to just what is absolutely necessary for essential tasks. This is in addition to Gov. Newsom's announced statewide guidelines regarding COVID-19. These guidelines include respecting social distancing practices by providing 6 feet of space between individuals and the avoidance of group events with more than 50 people. With these guidelines in mind, the Celtic Arts Center is cancelling current programs until further notice. In addition, please note that the Celtic Arts Center will practice social distancing and encourage our community to also follow the newest guidelines which ask that anyone with a chronic condition, and everyone over 65 years of age, to self-isolate.
Our host, the Mayflower Club will be closed for the duration and, when possible, we will convert our educational programming to virtual classes online.
The Board of Directors of the Celtic Arts Center are continuing to monitor this rapidly evolving situation. In these challenging times, your ongoing support of the Celtic Arts Center is deeply appreciated and vital. We encourage everyone to stay calm, informed, and prepared. We will get through this together. For on-going, accurate and up-to-date information, please visit corona-virus.la, coronavirus.lacity.org, publichealth.lacounty.gov, and cdc.gov.
The entire Celtic Arts Center board and staff of volunteers look forward to our next opportunity to gather together and engage in live arts, cultural practices, and presentations in celebration of our vibrant community.
Sláinte mhaith agus ádh mór oraibh!
Douglas R. Dean
President, Board of Directors
