A discussion and Lecture

The Celtic Origins of Sherlock Holmes

Hand-drawn illustration of Sherlock Holmes' emblematic overcoat, hat, and pipe with Celtic knotwork.

FRIDAY , OCTOBER 12, 2018 @ 7PM
at Sonic Light Pictures
in Van Nuys, CA

Join Tom Louie for a look at the Scottish and Irish inspiration for Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous characters, as well as the Celtic background of the author himself. Tom is not a Sherlockian scholar by any means, although he can claim to have read all 60 canonical stories and novels and some pastiches — so Baker Street Irregulars, true-blue Sherlockians and casual detective fiction fans are all welcome! Discussion to follow. But please reserve your seat in the ‘Diogenes Club’ early (aka “Sonic Light Pictures”), because the maximum room capacity is 15!

This event will take place at...
Sonic Light Pictures
14545 Victory Boulevard, Suite #504
Van Nuys, CA 91411

(Located just west of Van Nuys Boulevard on the north side of Victory with parking in the lot
behind the building accessible from Vesper Avenue and Gilmore Street
