This Christmas Eve, the Celtic Arts Centers choir An Cór Ceilteach will be performing for the first time in the Los Angeles Countys Arts Commissions 43rd Annual Los Angeles Holiday Celebration downtown at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. We've been selected to sing a few of our Irish-Gaelic songs, including Cluineadh Ceol (Angels Heard On High) to celebrate the season.
The live 6-hour performance is FREE to attend and should be quite a show with many groups performing that afternoon and evening. The show is from 3 to 9 PM. We will be performing at approximately 6:30 PM (it's live television, so we can't be exactly sure). |

A one-hour highlight version of the 43rd Annual Los Angeles Holiday Celebration will be broadcast nationally in prime time via the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) for the first time this year. In the past, more than 6,000 people have viewed the Holiday Celebration in person each year and several hundred thousand more watched the program on KCET. Now, more than 200 markets nationally will have the option of picking up the PBS broadcast. Fingers crossed, the Celtic Arts Centers choir intends to be the highlight of the show! If you can't make it downtown, tune in to Channel 28 and set the VCR to record!

Since 1964, the L.A. County Arts Commission has produced a Holiday Celebration in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion of the Music Center on December 24th. Community and professional choirs, music ensembles, and dance companies perform for an audience in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion while the program is broadcast live on KCET.
The show is a gift from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to the community at large. Additional funding for the one-hour national program was provided by the Quality and Productivity Commission of Los Angeles County. Admission to the live show, 3:00-9:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 24 in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion of the Music Center, is FREE, as is the parking under the Music Center.
