– REVIEWS –

"In Matthew Sklar's onstage radio drama, director Tim Byron Owen and company leave no joke unturned as they smoothly bring to life the personality-filled, everyday mishaps of an old-time radio troupe."
"... dead-on performances of the on-air characters who frequent an Irish bar that make this production charming."

"Love Me Deadly concerns a modest, unassuming gentleman’s sudden infatuation with a hauntingly beautiful, somewhat forward woman whom he has met by chance in a neighborhood Irish bar. He eagerly succumbs to her charms, and his heretofore lackluster life takes a decidedly abrupt turn with an all-consuming relationship which seems almost too good to be true. He is smitten, and all cries for caution and restraint from his best friend fall on deaf ears — advice he will later regret not having heeded."

A co-production of The Sarah Fulton Group and An Claidheamh Soluis / The Celtic Arts Center, Love Me Deadly is an award-winning, chilling mystery written by Matthew Sklar. This thriller of a play will be performed in the manner of a live, old-style 1950s radio drama under the direction of Sarah Fulton Group Artistic Director and founder Tim Byron Owen.

A variety of actors will be rotating among the various character roles during different performances. Among the cast are Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award winner Pat Harrington, Vincent Dowling, a Lifetime Associate Artistic Director of the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, Creed Bratton, familiar to viewers of NBC-TV’s “The Office” series, Kathy Barnes, Tina Saddington, Timothy Donnelly, Magi Loucks, Michael Harrity, William Knight, Kate Darcy, Ken O’Malley, Louisa Abernathy, Marco DeLuca, Mik Scriba and James Horan.

Director Tim Byron Owen’s recent credits include the highly acclaimed plays “Fighting Words” and “A Night In November,” both produced by The Sarah Fulton Group, and which enjoyed successful runs at the Celtic Arts Center, as well as internationally.

Love Me Deadly was originally staged in 2002 at Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre in North Hollywood, earning author Matthew Sklar the Valley Theatre League’s Artistic Director Achievement Award for Best Author of an Original Play.
