Òran Na Maighdinn Mhara
(Song of the Mermaid)
trad. — A tale of a mermaid (aka 'kelpie' - a magical seal-like creature) who came ashore and took off her seal skin to explore the beach, but was entrapped into a relationship with a human when her seal skin was stolen and hidden away. When she finds her skin she'll go back to the rich and wonderous realm of the sea.

1] Away out on the crest of the waves in the storm Cold and chilly far from land, My love for you was always sound Although a mermaid I am. |
2] My sleep is but restless Whenever the weather is unsettled. Last night I was in Corryvreckan (infamous whirlpool). Tonight I'll be on the Isle of Iona. |
3] Look and see to the bottom of the ocean Silver and gold filled caves in plenty, Brighter than you can see In any court or king's palace. |
